Amherst Securities supports selected community projects in metropolitan areas in which its employees live and work.
 
In Austin, Texas, where Amherst is headquartered, Amherst executives were a leading force in creating Cap City Kids (The Capital City Fund for Education), a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Its mission is to provide volunteer and financial support to assist homeless children in gaining access to and benefitting from public education programs and institutions. In the New York metropolitan area, Amherst is a supporter of the Greater New York Chapter of Volunteers of America, which operates more than 70 programs from transitional shelters for homeless families and individuals to early learning centers for children with developmental delays; from group homes for troubled boys to halfway houses for offenders reintegrating into their communities.
