Amherst Securities Group Hires John Caputo as Primary CMBS Trader

Austin, TX – June 21, 2010 – Amherst Securities Group LP, a leading financial services provider to institutional investors in the mortgage sector, announced today that John Caputo has joined the company as its primary commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) trader, effective June 21.  Mr. Caputo brings nearly 20 years of commercial real estate expertise to this position, having worked as a loan underwriter, desk trader and bond portfolio manager.  He will be based in Amherst’s New York office.

Most recently, Mr. Caputo managed the RMBS and CMBS trading efforts at hedge fund C12 Capital Management LP.  Prior to that, he held positions at Barclays Capital and Salomon Brothers/Smith Barney/Citi as a CMBS trader.
